Your Kind Face

While we were recording Emotional Wreck, an amazingly talented filmmaker friend of mine, Ron Vignone, asked me if I had or knew of any songs that could replace Jimmy Cliff's version of "I Can See Clearly Now" in his ridiculously terrific film  "Say I Do" which was about to be transferred to film from DV by Sony Pictures.  Well, my producer/engineer Gregg Sartiano and I were not about to let this opportunity pass by without giving it a shot.  We set "Passive Aggressive" and "See You Next Tuesday" down for a moment and wrote and recorded this tune in about an hour.  I didn't quite fit Ron's requirements, so I put Your Kind Face in Sensitive Johnson because it was made to be in a movie.  Buying this song supports two struggling artist - myself and Gregg.  Ron had his chance.

Your Kind Face

I lost myself for a moment.
I didn’t think I could keep up the pace.
I almost gave up on all I ever wanted
Then suddenly I saw your kind face

All the pain and devastation
That I’ve collected and never erased
Suddenly vanished the moment that you smiled
Thankfully, I saw your kind face.

I lost myself in this moment
Your turned around a much better day
I finally found all I ever wanted
When I said I do to your kind face
