I was at the Sundance Film
Festival with ‘Sensitive Johnson’ when it was screening at the Park City
Film Music Festival. Sitting in Bandits, having lunch with a couple friends,
I noticed the most gorgeous blonde ever come in with a few friends and
sit down next to us. Of course, when she smiled at me I was way too shy,
so I looked away. She eventually struck up a conversation with us. She
gave every signal that she liked me. I was so proud of sustaining a conversation
with such a beautiful girl, that I completely forgot to get her number.

Blues eyes. Blond hair. Snow gear I tried
not to stare.
You caught me a couple times. I spun around as if I didn’t realize
This beautiful girl had just arrived. This lame vacation’s just been revived. |

Excuse me. Do you guys know how to read this
schedule?
Let me see. I could try. Could I be talking to my future bride?
I’m Chris, what’s your names? I’m Heidi. This is Pauline.
She said two others I don’t remember, cause I was focused on Heidi, my Ms.
December. |

Hey, Heidi, where you from? No way, I lived
there when I was younger.
What brought you guys into town? I got a gig later on if you want to come
down.
We’ll see. We’re gonna try. We got a lot to do this is our last night.
Well, so long, I hope I see you later. Then Heidi disappeared behind the
waiter. |

Did you guys see the way she smiled at me
with her eyes? This could be the one.
Yes, we did. But it will never materialize, cause you didn’t get her phone. |

Heidi, find me. I’m the guy from the diner.
You sat behind me.
Heidi, find me. I fell for you at our first sighting. |

Hey Heidi, where’d you go? I’ve searched
everywhere in Lake Tahoe.
So, I’m playing at the Gallery. Then the doors opened up. She came to see
me.
Her two blue eyes smiled again. After a minute the two other friends came
in.
They stayed for a bit then took Heidi away.Glad you came Heidi, but I wanted
you to stay. |

Heidi, find me, I’m the guy who was singing
you left without me.
Heidi, kindly, turn right around come back and try me.
Pauline, what’s the story, it’s plain to see Heidi adores me.
Heidi, find me, I need your smile please don’t deny me. |

Now I’m home and I’m thinking of her and
I know she’s doing the same.
How can I even ever contact her if I don’t know her last name?
This tragically missed opportunity left me no other choice.
I had to put an ad on Craigslist and another in the Village Voice. I wrote: |

Heidi, find me, I’m the guy from the diner
you sat behind me.
Heidi, come and try me, your eyes were just far too inviting.
Pauline, have her call me, you must tell Heidi she’s perfect for me.
Heidi, call me Friday, somebody’s got to help to find me
Heidi, somebody’s got to combine me with
Heidi, somebody's got to Valentine me
Heidi, wine me, dine me, don’t forget to sixty-nine me
Heidi, find me, Heidi you could satisfy me…
Heidi, find me, Heidi you could redefine me… Heidi |
