Encounter-Culture.com
Encounter-Culture.com asked me to put together a little Strings of Comedy night for their pre-launch event. This is a lifestyle events website designed for 20s and 30s. Should be a fun night. Entertainment, food, & drink all provided at 9pm tonight at 3450 Cahuenga Blvd, C203, LA, 90068. Come on – what could be better? How about:
Alison Block (AlisonBlock.com) is a stand-up comic with a guitar or a musician with a sense of humor. Her “sophisticatedly raunchy” songs mix the wild and witty with the feminine tenderness found in themes about gay ex-boyfriends and male gynecologists.
Eric Schwartz (EricSchwartz.com) tours the country regularly and is a favorite at folk music festivals everywhere because he is an amazing musician with a killer wit and stunning sense of humor. You will be pleasantly surprised, shocked, and dazzled. His song “Clinton Got A Blowjob” just won the International Songwriting Competition’s Comedy/Novelty category.
And me – Chris Valenti – His songs, films, and jokes about foiled romantic opportunities and neurotic misadventures, vent the painfully funny universal suffering we all endure. His live show is part music, part comedy, and part cinema. (He shows a new film at every M Bar show.) A hopeful romantic with a twisted sense of humor, Chris uses blunt honesty, vulnerability, and self-deprecation to write comedy about the frustrations of life and attempted relationships.
