Chris Valenti

If you’ve ever been frustrated by a relationship and you have a twisted, but healthy sense of humor, then Chris Valenti is the artist for you. Chris takes his romantic failures and frustrations personally and pours them out to you straight from his wry, twisted heart. Valenti\’s songs of struggles, blunders, and missed opportunities radiate the painfully funny universal suffering we all endure. His show is part music, part comedy, part therapy, and part romance – as well as action, adventure, mystery and sometimes horror. A philosopher of love – usually, the kind of love that did not exactly make it to that \’happily ever after\’ place, Chris writes and performs songs that touch upon the common truths of the humorous lives of single people. Songs like Passive Aggressive, about the cute little problems that get blown out of proportion in every sweet, loving relationship, and The Ghost of Your Ex, about dates who can\’t stop talking about their ex-boyfriends, strike close to home for those who can not reel in the full attention of their present partner. Don\’t Pass Out is a plea and warning to men and women everywhere to curb excessive drinking, especially on first dates. The upcoming album includes It\’s Hard to Find Someone Good Enough For Me, which nails the single person\’s core issue head on – and was featured on The Dr. Phil Show – and Everyone Can Be Replaced, a positive look at the end of relationships. Most shows end with Chris\’s new approach to women, Booty Call. A hopeful romantic with a wry sense of humor, Chris has the knack for using self-deprecation and vulnerability to write songs about the hazards and frustrations of love and attempted relationships. He’s become the cheerful motivator for the unlucky in love, because the best cure for a broken heart is laughing at someone else\’s.

New Album Available on iTunes

It’s done!

The album I recorded at the M Bar in July, Live Emotional Wreckage, is available on iTunes. Buy a few tracks or the whole thing. Help me impress my new record company, New Wave Dynamics. It was a lot of fun to record. A DVD of the night is also available at shows.

This album is a combination of both stand up bits and songs, including – First Wife, Oh , You’re Turning 50, President Hilary Clinton (renamed so iTunes people might get the joke easier), I Miss Her… Vagina (also renamed for the same reason), and maybe my best performance of Girls Are Crazy.

I have three other albums also available on iTunes or right here on the music page.

New Live Album – For a Big Fancy Record Company!

Lend me your laugh!

I will be recording a full length show for a new album and DVD. Industry giant New Wave Dynamics, a division of New Wave Entertainment, asked for permission to distribute an album of mine. Huge opportunity! Look them up and you’ll see they rep major names and produce enormous projects. Come be a part of the smallest project New Wave has ever done!

This album has to be good! Forget New Wave…. within the last six months, both of my brothers have produced their respective first child. I’m in major competition for my mother’s affection… and my
reproduction prospects are awful, so it all depends on this album.

Please come help me impress my mom!!! I’m going to play an extended full length show with all my best songs and best bits: Oh “FirstName”, Girls Are Crazy, You’re Turning 50, I Wanna Be Your Intern (Female
President Clinton), and many, many more.

There will be NO door charge at all for this show. It will be held on Thursday July 1st at the M Bar, 1253 N Vine St at the corner of Fountain. Doors open at 7pm. The M Bar will have their normal “please eat dinner here” ten dollar food policy. But the food is good
and I imagine you eat at least once a day anyhow. Please make dinner reservations at (323) 856-0036.

Please come!!! I need your laugh on this record. I don’t want my first comedy album to be, “Valenti – Live in a Vacuum”.

Mechanical, Not Emotional, Breakdown in the desert.

My car broke down in the middle of death valley, 25 miles from Baker, CA, on the drive back from a music conference in Las Vegas this past weekend. We tried to pass some time with the guitar and what I could remember of an Eagles tune.

iHateIt

I made a series of commercials for a new iPhone application, iHateIt. Using some of my friends from PsychoBabble, Kasey Wilson, Scott MacDonell, and Steve Brewster, we shot 17 commercials for, our co-PsychoBabble Alum, Charles Horn’s new app – iHateIt Personal Disapproval Assistant. It’s a great app. The spots are pretty funny. Here’s a sample.

Random Chapters

New Year’s Kiss is the final short film of the 2009 monthly short project I did. I finished!!! The 12 films are compiled into a longer 30 minute short film called Random Chapters in the Life of Some Guy. This is being submitted to film festivals internationally.
So what do I do with myself now that I’m finished? Maybe make a feature film every month? …we’ll see.
Thanks for watching!
